Gay Hotel Velvet in Manchester.

I say gay hotel and mean gay in every sense. The German word for gay is froh or fröhlich not meaning homosexual. The Velvet is situated in Manchester's gay village which has a reputation of being a young and dynamic, rather exotic quarter along Canal Street. The World's madness is not always and everywhere visible. The crazyness of life, where is it when you seek it desperately because you want to laugh and wonder? In Manchester's LGBT Canal Street you find it. No need to look away. It's wonderfully mad here and everyone accepts each other. Whats wrong with that?

We had been here before, but there was no terrorist catastrophe like the one in Orlando/USA, where 49 people lost their lives. A mad killer did it. This gay place is still shocked and we all know why. All you can see here is that to be gay means in the first place LOVE and then, maybe, SEX. This clear message we picked up in the streets. The Velvet is part of this.

What a surprise when the mindful hotel management suggested to us, Cath and me, a bath with two glasses of champagne, some magic light, swimming on the water and chocolate sweets on a lovely tray. I think we never had anything like that before. The music was great and we understood that we didn't have to be LGBT or so to enjoy the evening. And we really did.

What a bed! A sleep temple!
I still don't understand what the difference is between making love and making love in a different way if one likes that. The champagne was good and we'll do it again and again and again.
