It was near Huddersfield, one of the confusing places of Yorkshire, when we decided to go for a walk, inspite of the doubtful weather lurking around. Castle Hill or so. Never heared of it before. Put your rain anorak on, said Cath, and be brave, we go up some steep hill she said. So I did and we took off.
My expectations weren't high, when Cath declared that there was no pub waiting for us up there. Courrageous as I am I did agree to walk up with her, knowing that we would have to come back all the way to find some food and a beer.
To put it positively: there was not a drop of rain. We did not slip down the hill. We managed to have the most wonderfull sight of the most beautiful landscape, eventually divided by stone walls to keep the sheep apart from each other, when they belong to different owners.
Most fascinating is the variety the Yorkshire wall building culture has produced over a few centuries. Does Her Majesty the Queen have knowledge of this? I wouldn'd be surprised if she had. Close to her rural and sheep growing country as she usually is.
Nice smells, a few dogs lovingly accompanied by their Mummies and Daddies, stunning views and hungry stomacs as well as a lot of strong winds. That was the outcome of yet another healthy walk in Yorkshire.
