Georges Double U. B. was bad enough as President of the US and wanted the whole World to believe in his charisma and that Iraq had mass destruction weapons. Where was the truth? Divinely conferred charisma only exists in the Bible. Also, in the name of democracy and liberty the older ones had to see the Korean War end in shambles: dividing up (for ever?) a nation. The Vietnam War left behind a devastated country with millions of victims. The Western World stood by the side of the United States until major doubt arose about the senselessness of this commitment. Nothing but historical errors! Afghanistan included. I presume that American tax payers' money was also frivolously involved. As it massively was in Iraq. Was it ever clear to the American tax payer what sense this all made?
When Michail Gorbatchev made his first keynote speech to a Western intergovernmental Organisation, in July 1989, the Strasbourg based Council of Europe, he clearly stated that the then communist Soviet Union did not want to use propaganda any more in their international activities. The USA did not need any secret service's assistance to find out about the seriousness of Gorbatchev's announcement. All was public and - as became clear within short - meaningful: the former Soviet Union signed the European Human Rights Convention and became a member of the Council of Europe, with some 800 million citizen Europe's biggest democratic organisation.
Now, while the whole World is shocked by Edward Snowden's revelations, who, after all, was spying in the name of NSA and USA, the American government puts countries under pressure to extradite this courageous pioneer, whereby it is absolutely unclear what would now happen to him back home. Death penalty? Isn't NSA also involved in mysterious killings? And law breaking in general? Would a life sentence be adequate for a man who so bravely revealed the misdoings of his employer? Come on, Mr. President, try to be clear about this! No propaganda anymore! We also know that Putin, Merkel, Cameron and others are not innocent either. But how many friends can America afford to lose?
